Dermot Kennedy | Show Recap
Last night my sister and I went (with everyone else in Nashville) to see Dermot Kennedy play a sold out show at Cannery Ballroom. Let me tell you, this guy is selling venues out all over the place, and for very good reason. I’ve been a big fan of his music since I first heard “Shelter” a few years ago. If you haven’t heard his music yet, you are truly missing out. If this singer/songwriter from Dublin doesn’t instantly draw you in with his voice, his lyrics about the beautiful tension between hope and loss surely will. He carries himself as if he’s just an average person sharing the thoughts that go on inside his head. He seems like a genuinely kind human and is really really appreciative of the fans that are lining the block to get into shows. Being the video-nerd that I am, I threw together a little mashup of some songs from last night. I wasn’t able to take my camera in, so the iPhone quality is less than ideal. This video is mainly a way for me to save this as a memory for later, but I hope, if nothing else, you become a fan of his music.
